The sentence of an Alloa Paedophile, Abigail Kikke, woman imprisoned for sexually abusing a two-year-old kid in an attempt to profit from online paedophiles has been lowered.
27-year-old Abigail Kikke abused the small child and shared inappropriate pictures of minors, including her victim of assault.
Following a hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh in October, Abigail Kikke received six years from a judge.
“This court hears everyday accounts of absolutely terrible behaviour, often directed against vulnerable victims,” Lord Sandison remarked.
“Some cases, however, still can really shock, and this is one of them.”
Should Abigail Kikke not have entered a guilty plea, the judge informed her she would have been imprisoned for nine years.
Lord Sandison also mentioned Kikke would spend her lifetime on the Sex Offenders Register.
But on Tuesday, January 18, appeal judges Lord Doherty and Lord Matthews shortened Abigail Kikke’s sentence by eight months after they decided that Lord Sandison neglected to adequately consider Abigail Kikke’s poor mental health and other facets of her life when giving the punishment.
Should Lord Sandison have done, the judges decided, he would have sentenced him to five years and four months.
Lord Doherty said: “We agree with the sentencing judge that this instance was severe and upsetting. Still, the headline sentence in this one is very high.
“We shall substitute one of five years and four months for the six-year sentence.”
Abigail Kikke admitted last year that she had sexually abused the small child between March 18 and 26 at a Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire property.
She exposed herself to the minor daughter and engaged in a sex act on herself during the abuse she inflicted.
She also admitted to having taken, owned, and shared pornographic images of children—including her victim.
According to court records, authorities learnt on March 26, 2020, that Abigail Kikke had disseminated an obscene photograph via Kik Messenger, a social networking tool.
Abigail Kikke had emailed an online user a one-minute and fifty-eight-second video showing her and the youngster naked.
Her victim appeared in 11 still and moving images while she was caught with 69 obscene pictures. There had been some picture deletion.
Unemployed Abigail Kikke claimed in a discussion that she was debt-ridden, self-isolated and battled with no human interaction except via her phone.
One of her internet connections claimed to be a successful stock trader who would take her on holiday overseas.
Defence advocate Ronnie Renucci QC advised lawyers on Tuesday to cut the jail term assigned to his client.
He said: “This case has some mitigating circumstances. She feels some regret, which she has shown in the Criminal Justice Social Work Report that the court has before it.
She is a first-off offender. There is no proof she lacked excellent character before this conduct.
She seems to be quite vulnerable.
Now, Abigail Kikke’s will cover the remaining 64-month term.
