Albert Dawidziuk Polish Rapist
Albert Dawidziuk Polish Rapist

A Polish rapist residing in HMP Leicester, Albert Dawidziuk, convicted of controlling and coercive actions against a woman has been sentenced to imprisonment.

In September of the previous year, a victim of Albert Dawidziuk entered one of our front inquiry offices and said that he had subjected her to physical and psychological torture for several years. During a subsequent meeting organised by the authorities, she revealed that the abuse had also been of a sexual nature.

She informed police from Signal, the specialised unit for rape and serious sexual offences, that 36-year-old Albert Dawidziuk had infiltrated her email and social media accounts and frequently interrogated her over her interactions with coworkers.

She stated that he further alienated her from her friends and insisted that she provide him photographs to verify her location and companionship.

At the time the report was filed, Albert Dawidziuk, a Polish citizen, was abroad. Nevertheless, he was apprehended by officers from Kent Police upon his arrival in Dover days later.

Albert Dawidziuk, currently in HMP Leicester, was convicted on 20 June of two counts of rape, one count of assault by penetration, one act of sexual assault, and one count of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour, following a trial at Leicester Crown Court.

On Wednesday, July 2, he was sentenced to a cumulative term of 12 years’ imprisonment at the same court. He is also bound by an indefinite restraining order that forbids any contact with the victim.

Detective Constable Adam Battley, the lead investigator, stated: “The victim in this case deserves commendation for her courage in coming forward and disclosing the actions of Albert Dawidziuk.”

“We take reports of rape, sexual assault and controlling coercive behaviour extremely seriously We strive to ensure that the perpetrators of such crimes are brought to justice. The accounts and evidence she was able to provide were key to achieving this outcome.

“I hope the fact Albert Dawidziuk is now serving times behind bars will provide a degree of closure and allow her to move on with her life.”
