A registered St Louis Pedophile sex offender, Andre Elgin, received a life sentence without the possibility of parole for child sexual abuse involving a juvenile with whom he had a familial tie.

Andre Elgin, 56, was convicted on Tuesday on several charges, which encompass:

  • One count of first-degree sodomy
  • Four counts of second-degree child molestation
  • One count of sexual misconduct involving a minor under the age of 15

Court documents reveal the incidents took place in the Carondelet neighborhood, located in St. Louis, in 2023.

According to prosecutors, a young girl reported that Andre Elgin sexually abused her during visits. These events often would occur when no other adults were present.

Andre Elgin had a prior history involving the law, as he is a registered sex offender. In the past, he had a conviction that surrounded rape and the sodomy of minors so why did the family member invite him to stay?

Because of his troubling past involving adolescents and facts presented in the case, Andre Elgin was sentenced to a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.

“This defendant is a dangerous predator who repeatedly targeted a vulnerable child,” said Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore. “Because of the victim’s courage and the efforts of our team, he will never harm another child again.”

Andre Elgin will be sentenced on July 18.
