Andrew Wilson, a sex offender from Sussex, has been incarcerated after a Kent Police investigation revealed he inflicted a campaign of dread and agony upon his victim in Kent while exerting control over her life.
Andrew Wilson, previously residing on Brompton Close in Brighton, encountered his victim, who was residing in Ashford at that time, in 2023.
As time went on, Andrew Wilson’s behaviour turned aggressive and unpredictable, causing the woman to become frightened and isolated.
Andrew Wilson, 29, exhibited escalating controlling and violent behaviour, compelling his victim to eliminate social media contacts, alter her attire, and acquiesce to his sexual demands.
He controlled her movements and interactions, subjecting her to sexual assault and asphyxiation.
The woman told Andrew Wilson she wanted no further contact with him, but he persisted in harassing her and making repeated threats.
A report was made to Kent Police and Andrew Wilson was arrested in Brighton on 19 January 2024, with the support of officers from Sussex Police, before being charged the following day.
Following a trial at Lewes Crown Court, Andrew Wilson was found guilty of sexual assault, suffocation and coercive and controlling behaviour and, on 12 November, was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Andrew Wilson will spend a further two years on licence after that term, and was also given an indefinite restraining order, forbidding him from any further contact with the victim.
