Birkenhead Grooming Gang - Merseyside Paedophiles

Ilvarasan Rajenthiram and Vinothan Rajenthiram, brothers from Merseyside, exploited their family’s corner shop in Birkenhead, Walton, and Garston to prey on teenage girls from 2010 to 2016.

Nine girls, predominantly aged 14 to 16, were targeted while visiting businesses on the Wirral. The immoral duo known as the Birkenhead Grooming Gang would entice the young girls with complimentary beverages and confections to cultivate friendships, subsequently exploiting them.

On May 15, 2017, Ilvarasan Rajenthiram received an 18-and-a-half-year prison sentence at Liverpool Crown Court, along with an extended license of four years.

He was convicted of 15 charges of sexual activity with a minor, three counts of sexual assault, and two counts of obstructing justice.

His elder brother, Vinothan Rajenthiram, was sentenced to 14 years in prison, followed by an additional four-year extended license, after being found guilty of four charges of sexual assault, one count of rape, four counts of sexual conduct with a minor, and one count of perverting the course of justice.

The brothers from Sri Lanka consistently refuted all claims during their trial about the perverted acts of the Birkenhead Grooming Gang.
