Brett Healey started a ‘sexual fantasy relationship’ with a 13-year-old American girl before getting her to send him an indecent picture.
The 26-year-old said he thought the girl, from Kentucky, was 16.
Brett Healey was found with an inappropriate picture of her on his phone.
Police recovered chat logs between the pair.
Messages exchanged between the girl, and Brett Healey were often explicit.
“Send me a pic of you, baby,” one read.
A court heard the pair had a ‘sexual fantasy relationship’.
Brett Healey, formerly of Buxton, Derbyshire, pleaded guilty to possession of an indecent image of the girl.
He was given a 12-month community order and ordered to sign the sex offender register for five years.
