A rapist from Falmouth, Christian Dodd, has received a 13-year prison sentence after being convicted of sexual offences against a lady.
Christian Dodd, 46 years old, formerly of Cliff Road, will be required to register on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Christian Dodd was apprehended in August 2022 following a report of rape received by the police. He confessed during the police interrogation that the woman had not given her consent and informed the officers that he had no justification for his actions.
Notwithstanding the remarks, Christian Dodd entered a plea of not guilty to the charges and underwent trial at Truro Crown Court in May 2025.
The jury convicted him of one count of rape against a lady and one count of sexual assault including penetration, pertaining to acts committed in August 2022.
Christian Dodd was acquitted of one charge of sexual assault against a female, pertaining to an occurrence in November 2021.
Appearing at Truro Crown Court today, 14 May, the judge sentenced Christian Dodd to seven years for the sexual assault and 13 years for the rape. The sentences will run concurrently.
Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Isabelle Woodall said: The investigation into this matter commenced in 2022. It has been a trying time, and it is a relief for all concerned that it has finally been brought to a conclusion.”
