The Liverpool Rapist, Christopher Wade, 54, of no permanent residence, was convicted after a trial at Liverpool Crown Court that completed in February, with sentencing occurring today, Tuesday, 14 March. The Sex Offender was also granted a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a lifetime Sex Offender notice.
On Friday, 12 August 2022, at approximately 10:30 PM, Christopher Wade confronted the adolescent victim in Southport town centre. He procured alcohol and provided her with narcotics, and while she was incapacitated, Christopher Wade raped and sexually attacked her in a nearby park. The victim was abandoned on a bench and successfully notified a cab driver of the incident, prompting a call to the police.
After a comprehensive investigation involving forensic analysis, CCTV footage, and witness testimonies, Christopher Wade was convicted last month of rape, assault by penetration, and sexual assault.
Following Christopher Wade’s sentencing, Detective Constable Jennifer Guest stated: “The sentence rendered today is intended to provide the victim with some solace as she continues to recuperate from this traumatic and profoundly damaging experience, and we will persist in offering her support moving forward.” We acknowledge the significant effect that such grave offences have on victims, and we hope she may eventually find strength and a more promising future.
Christopher Wade manipulated this vulnerable young girl, utilising drugs and drink to entice her from a public setting, thereby exacerbating her distress through the inquiry and trial process.
He exhibited a callous indifference for his victim and poses a substantial threat to the public. Christopher Wade will now serve a sentence commensurate with the severity of his offences, ensuring public safety. We would also like to express our gratitude to the taxi driver who demonstrated compassion by attending to the victim and contacting the police that night. His prompt activities significantly aided our inquiry.
