David Orchard (Withyman), a Paedophile Rapist has been incarcerated for engaging in sexual activities with three minors and attempting to arrange meetings with two additional individuals who were also underage.

David Orchard, also known as Withyman, was experiencing homelessness and temporarily staying on sofas or living in his car when he encountered the girls, who were 13, 14, and 15 years old.

David Orchard engaged in a five-month relationship with a 14-year-old schoolgirl in Exeter, during which they engaged in unprotected sexual intercourse on four occasions inside his vehicle.

David Orchard was apprehended due to his practice of accompanying her on her way to school, which raised teacher concerns regarding his interaction with her.

David Orchard relocated to Exeter during an ongoing investigation into his involvement in sexual activities with two underage girls in Sheffield.

David Orchard disregarded a police directive to avoid contact with a 15-year-old girl and convinced her to engage in sexual activity with him at a friend’s residence.

Shortly after that, David Orchard extended an invitation to two individuals aged 13 to his sister’s residence in Sheffield to view a film, during which he coerced one of them into engaging in oral sexual activity.

The police discovered social media messages involving two additional ladies on his mobile device. David Orchard proposed engaging in sexual activity with both individuals and proudly discussed the dimensions of his genitalia to the 13-year-old, stating that it could not be any larger.

David Orchard, who is 23 years old, The individual who does not have a permanent residence, pleaded guilty to two charges of engaging in sexual behaviour with a minor and two charges of communicating sexually with a minor.

David Orchard refuted an additional charge of engaging in sexual conduct with the minor in Exeter, but he was convicted during a trial in Exeter in January.

Recorder Mr Jonathan Barnes sentenced him to a five-year imprisonment at Exeter Crown Court. In addition, he was permanently registered as a sex offender and placed under a sexual harm prevention order that prohibits any future interaction with underage girls.

He told him: ”What you did was very serious. You knew full well you should not have been engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity with underage girls.

“You were with three separate young girls and two further offences of sexual grooming of two more. I am sure you would have proceeded to commit sexual crimes against them if you had the opportunity.

“If you come out of prison and get involved with underage girls again, you will go to prison for a very long time indeed.”

Mr Richard Crabb, prosecuting, said the first offences were committed in Sheffield in July and August of 2017 with girls aged 15 and 13.

David Orchard had been seeing the older girl for some months and had been issued with an abduction order which banned him from contact. He cajoled into having full sex with her.

David Orchard met two 13-year-old girls on Facebook and invited them to his sister’s house, where he got one of them to masturbate him. He then pushed her head down onto his penis and held it there for about 25 seconds.

David Orchard was arrested and interviewed by police and denied meeting the two girls, even after they had picked him out in an identification procedure.

David Orchard was released under investigation and moved to Devon in October 2017, living under the name of Withyman and spending some of his time living in his car.

David Orchard met the 14-year-old shortly after arriving in Exeter, and they had a relationship which included having sex in his car.

Mr Crabb said: ”He walked with her to school and must have known how old she was. She developed something of a crush on him, and the sex was entirely consensual. Her school alerted her mother, who called the police.”

David Orchard went on to groom two more girls on Facebook, sending a 15-year-old a picture of his penis with lewd messages.

Mr Ed Bailey, defending, said Orchard has learning difficulties, which means that his mental age is much lower than his physical age.

He has been classified as a vulnerable prisoner and has been unable to receive any visits from his family since the Covid lockdown in March.

He said there was no grooming involved in the Exeter case, and all the sexual activity had been consensual.
