Elle Aiton, A female Bellshill paedophile has been exempted from incarceration due to her age, despite engaging in a sexual connection with a 14-year-old kid. Elle Aiton, aged 20, encountered the adolescent online prior to their in-person meeting, during which they engaged in kissing and cuddling.
Elle Aiton, from Bellshill, Lanarkshire, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and confessed to participating in sexual activity.
On one occasion, the couple disrobed each other in his bedroom, and Elle Aiton placed her hand inside his pants. At that time, she was 18 years old.
Elle Aiton permitted the schoolboy to make physical contact before they concluded that such interactions were “unwise”. The relationship culminated when the youngster was reported missing and was found within her residence.
The juvenile informed the authorities about their encounters from July to September 2023, prompting the initiation of an investigation. Elle Aiton subsequently informed the authorities that it had been an act of “foolishness”.
In consequence of her offences, Sheriff Louise Gallacher imposed a two-year supervision period and registered Elle Aiton on the sex offenders’ list for the same duration. She was prohibited from contacting her victim for a duration of two years.
Prosecutor Lewis Devoy stated: “The defendant commenced visiting the complainant at his residence, where they would spend time together.” The defendant was cognisant that the complainant was 14 years old.
The relationship persisted throughout the summer of 2023, during which they engaged in sexual contact. In August 2023, the complainant visited the accused’s residence, and they shared kisses. However, as the relationship progressed, both parties recognised that their sexual interactions were imprudent and agreed to terminate the relationship.
Ian Scott, in defence, stated: “It is evident that she is profoundly remorseful for her conduct.” It would be an authentic astonishment if she ever engaged the courts again.

Sheriff Gallacher stated: “You have pleaded guilty to the grave offence of engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old boy, and I am convinced that the threshold for custody has been met.” However, I must adhere to the sentence rules for juveniles, considering that the primary objective of sentencing individuals of your age is rehabilitation.
“Until now, you have demonstrated good character and are evaluated as a low risk for reoffending. Therefore, despite the gravity of this offence, I believe there is an alternative to incarceration.”
