Following an investigation by safeguarding detectives, the St Leonards-on-sea Paedophile, Gary Nash — who sexually abused a young child for almost ten years—has now faced justice with a sixteen-year term.
Previously admitting two crimes of sexual assault and one offence of attempting to engage in a penetrative sexual activity with a girl under 13, Gary Nash, 39, of Tower Road, St Leonards, was sentenced at Hove Crown Court on Thursday.
Gary Nash received a sixteen-year sentence, eight of which will be served in custody and the other eight years on extended licence. He will be a registered sex offender for life and the focus of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order as well.
“Gary Nash took advantage of his access to the victim to exploit her for his own sexual gratification without anyone else knowing, until earlier this year when she finally found the courage to speak out,” said East Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit detective sergeant Oliver Bali.
“We launched simultaneous inquiries and quickly caught Gary Nash, who admitted all the offences. Had she not very bravely denounced him, he would surely have kept sexually abusing her.”
