A Paedophile from Coventry, John Conway, has been imprisoned for sexual abuse that occurred in the city over 40 years ago.
John Conway, 79, received a sentence on Friday following an inquiry into his abuse of a child during the 1970s and 1980s.
John Conway routinely sexually assaulted and raped the girl, whom he knew, on multiple times from 1978 to 1985.
John Conway has been incarcerated following the revelation of the girl’s account, now an adult, to law enforcement officials.
Subsequent to an inquiry, John Conway was interrogated in 2020.
During the interview, John Conway refuted the allegations, which occurred in the Boxhall and Moorfields regions.
Notwithstanding this, John Conway, with prior convictions dating back to the 1970s for burglary, theft, and possession of stolen property, was charged with rape and indecent assault in 2021.
After a trial at Warwick Crown Court, John Conway received a 17-year prison sentence.
He will be permanently included on the sex offenders registry.
