A registered Isle of Sheppey Paedophile sex offender, Paul Knight, has been incarcerated for preying on young girls and for several violations of a court order.

In 2021, Paul Knight admitted guilt to sexual offences against minors and was subjected to stringent conduct regulations.

A 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) accompanied by Sex Offender Notification Requirements (SONR) imposed limitations on his interactions with minors, internet and phone usage, and ownership of bank cards.

Paul Knight was mandated to install surveillance software on his internet-connected devices.

On 10 November 2023, investigators conducted an unannounced visit to Paul Knight’s residence, resulting in a delay before he responded to the doorbell. He subsequently surrendered his mobile phone for examination, asserting it was his sole device.

Suspecting that Paul Knight had circumvented the surveillance software on his phone, he was apprehended.

The authorities subsequently conducted a search of his property and retrieved an iPhone concealed within a wardrobe. It was secured, and Paul Knight asserted that it was not his property. They also discovered that he possessed bank cards that he had not disclosed to the authorities.

On the same day, Paul Knight, residing on Queenborough Road, Minster-on-Sea, was indicted for five violations of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), three infringements of his Sex Offender Notification Requirements (SONR), and for possessing indecent photos of a minor.

He was detained in prison, and his two phones were then forwarded for additional digital forensic analysis.

Upon accessing his iPhone, authorities discovered that Paul Knight had been engaging in online communication with numerous underage girls for several months. He had participated in sexually explicit discussions and transmitted lewd images of himself while soliciting illicit ones in exchange.

His phones also held a total of 129 indecent photographs of minors, including one classified in the most severe category.

Paul Knight faced an additional 13 charges of inducing and attempting to induce a minor to participate in sexual behaviour, along with three charges of producing indecent photos of children.

He admitted admission to all the charges at Maidstone Crown Court. On Monday, June 9, 2025, the 61-year-old was sentenced to an extended term of eight years and three months’ imprisonment.

Upon his release, he will be mandated to fulfil a further four years under supervision. Knight will also be subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

Detective Constable Jamie Easdown said:

‘We regularly visit registered sex offenders living in our communities to monitor their conduct and ensure they are complying with any conditions in place to prevent further crimes. We install software on their devices to monitor activity online and will promptly complete searches at home addresses if we suspect further offences.

‘In this way, we endeavour to protect the most vulnerable in our community. Paul Knight has shown that he remains a danger to children and, once his crimes were discovered, he was swiftly arrested and brought back before the court to answer for his actions.’
