A female paedophile and child rapist, Rebecca Holloway, was discovered deceased in prison at the age of 31. Authorities are probing the demise of Rebecca Holloway, found at HMP Low Newton near Durham in the northeast on February 13. The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman is conducting an investigation into her demise.

The police have stated that the incident is not suspicious; nonetheless, an inquest will be conducted to ascertain the precise circumstances, according to the Manchester Evening News.

A spokeswoman for the Prison Service stated: “Prisoner Rebecca Holloway of HMP Low Newton passed away on February 13.” The Prison and Probation Ombudsman will conduct an investigation into all fatalities occurring in detention.

A representative of Durham Constabulary stated: “On the afternoon of February 13, law enforcement was notified of the discovery of a 31-year-old woman who was found hanged at HMP Low Newton.” The death is not considered suspicious, and a report is being compiled for the coroner.

In 2020, Rebecca Holloway was sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison at Teesside Crown Court for her involvement in a case of egregious child abuse, as reported by Chronicle Live. Her co-defendant, Oliver Wilson, was incarcerated for over 30 years.

Rebecca Holloway, residing on Rutland Street in Grimsby, and Oliver Wilson, 28, from Lincolnshire, confessed to two counts of child rape, involving many instances, as well as conspiracy to sexually abuse a child under the age of 13.

Rebecca Holloway also confessed to the creation and dissemination of indecent photos of minors. Oliver Wilson also confessed to rape, assault by penetration, and the creation of indecent images of minors.

The court heard the pair met on dating app Tinder and were together for around a year before being arrested. They were caught by Lincolnshire Police who discovered Oliver Wilson’s activities during an online paedophile investigation.

Judge Paul Watson QC said that Rebecca Holloway and Oliver Wilson’s sexually charged text messages made for some of the most ‘depraved and vile’ he had read.

He told Rebecca Holloway: “You were there encouraging Oliver Wilson when he was sexually abusing the girl, and you played your part in the vile sexual acts to which she was subjected.

“You derived perverted sexual pleasure from what he was doing. You were a willing, even enthusiastic, participant in what happened.”

A girl had been sexually abused and raped and a boy had a sexual injury, the court heard. Andrew Bailey, who represented Rebecca Holloway in court, said it was ‘one of the worst cases of its type that the court will often come across’.

He said Rebecca Holloway had suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder after what she claimed happened in her childhood and the “repeated traumatic events in her past”.

The court was told Rebecca Holloway had been a long-term self-harmer and lost a baby son to cot death in 2015 before she met Oliver Wilson. Mr Bailey said: “While in custody, the enormity of what she has done has dawned on her.

“Her character is now stained in the worst possible way forever.” The court was told Rebecca Holloway had said: “I feel sick for what I have done.”
