Richard Halck, the Stafford Sex Offender, has been imprisoned for recording inappropriate videos of women in Winsford without their consent. Richard Halck was sentenced to 55 weeks in prison at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, April 24.
Richard Halck was mandated to register as a sex offender for ten years, issued a ten-year sexual harm prevention order, and subjected to a restraining order prohibiting contact with his victims.
The 38-year-old, Richard Halck, formerly of Winsford and currently residing on Landor Way, Stafford, had previously entered a guilty plea to eight counts of voyeurism.
Richard Halck was issued restraining orders and mandated to pay court fees.
On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, a woman in a changing room at Winsford Lifestyle Centre observed a hand carrying a cell phone emerging from the adjacent cubicle, which she suspected was recording her while she was unclothed.
The woman composedly donned her attire before seeking assistance from the personnel, simultaneously requesting a bystander to impede the suspect’s exit from the cubicle.
Upon arrival, the police identified Richard Halck as the individual in the cubicle. He was apprehended and placed in detention, during which his cell phone was confiscated.
Upon further examination of the phone, detectives uncovered several additional videos of women that Richard Halck had recorded without their consent.
The recordings were recorded from Thursday, July 7, 2022, to Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at many sites throughout Winsford.
Although investigators successfully identified three victims, several more remain unidentified.
Detective Constable Sarah Ollier, who led the investigation, said:
“Firstly, I would like to praise the courage of the victims in this case, to discover that someone has filmed you without your consent must have been terrifying, but thanks to their bravery he has now been held accountable.
“Richard Halck’s actions have had a lasting impact on his victims, who were simply going about their daily business.
“He violated his victims’ personal space and privacy, filming them without their consent in places that they should be able to feel safe.
“This result reinforces our commitment to tackling violence against women and girls, we will prevent, deter and take action against anyone who preys on women and girls.”
