Riece Joynes Nottingham sex offender

Riece Joynes, a paedophile from Nottingham, informed a 13-year-old girl that he would “train to be a science teacher to engage in sexual relations with her at school.” Nottingham Crown Court was informed that Riece Joynes transmitted videos to the adolescent in which he was engaging in sexual self-stimulation.

However, ‘Ellie’ was, in reality, an undercover police officer, and the 23-year-old was apprehended at his residence in Bulwell. Upon being released on bail, the offender informed the officers that he would not engage in such behaviour again.

However, many months later, he was apprehended by a second undercover cop, this time impersonating a 14-year-old girl. Recorder Simon King sentenced him to two-and-a-half years in prison, stating, “It is evident that only an immediate custodial sentence is warranted.”

“It appears to me that there exists a significant risk; if one does not attentively consider societal perceptions of how one utilises their time, they may be regarded as a potential threat to children.” Daniel Wilshaw, for the prosecution, stated that Riece Joynes and ‘Ellie’ initiated online communication in October of the previous year, and shortly thereafter, he transformed their discussions into sexual dialogues.

He said the defendant sent videos of himself touching himself sexually and “asked her to take her clothes off” adding that “it would be cool if you were here, maybe we could have sex?” The prosecutor said: “She told him about her school and he replied that he ‘could train as a science teacher so they could have sex at the school’.

“Police went to his address and arrested him on December 28, 2023 and seized his mobile phone. On his devices they found 618 category A indecent images, 43 category B and 223 category C.

“There were various ages including a baby and a 1min 29sec video showed a girl aged six-to-eight being raped by an adult.” Mr Wilshaw said after being bailed on those offences, in May of this year, Riece Joynes was caught again by a second undercover officer posing as an underage girl.

He said on that occasion their discussions included sex positions and that he was attracted to girls of her age – 14. The defendant, Riece Joynes, of Montague Street, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of indecent images of children, attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act.

Riece Joynes has no previous convictions. Steven Gosnell, mitigating, said his client is autistic, suffers low self-estem and was bullied at school.

He said: “He is desperate to rehabilitate himself and desperate for help.” As well as the jail term, the judge handed Riece Joynes an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and placed him on the sex offender register for life.
