The Scotland Rapist, Ryan Macdonald was incarcerated for a series of sexual and violent offences. Ryan MacDonald, has been sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison following his conviction for many sexual and violent offences.
Ryan MacDonald, aged 31, perpetrated the acts in the Sutherland, Inverness, and Aberdeen regions from 2015 to 2020.
The charges were three counts of rape, several instances of sexual assault, and an assault causing injury.
Ryan MacDonald was found guilty following a trial at Inverness High Court on Thursday, 12 September, 2024.
Ryan MacDonald returned to be sentenced today, Friday, 11 October, 2024.
Detective Inspector Reuben Lindsay said: “Ryan MacDonald is an extremely dangerous individual who subjected his victim to horrific sexual assaults and violence. He will now face the consequences.
“Police Scotland takes all reports of violence and sexual crime extremely seriously and we would urge anyone who has experienced this type of abuse to please come forward and make a report. Our specialist officers will listen to you and support you throughout the process, and together, we will bring the perpetrator to justice.”
