Sefton Paedophile Sarah Campbell has been sentenced to a prison term exceeding nine years as a result of an inquiry into sexual offences committed against an adolescent male.

Sarah Campbell, a 39-year-old individual with no permanent residence but previously from Bootle, was apprehended and accused on 15 February 2019 of participating in consistent sexual acts with a 15-year-old victim from January 2016 to January 2017.

Sarah Campbell entered a plea of not guilty but initially neglected to attend a portion of the trial in May 2021.

Nevertheless, Sarah Campbell was apprehended on May 12th of the current year and subsequently presented in court, where she admitted guilt to all nine charges of engaging in sexual conduct with a minor.

Sarah Campbell was detained in custody until her court hearing today, Tuesday, 14 June, at Liverpool Crown Court, where she received a prison sentence of nine years and six months.

Detective Sergeant Peter Sloan said: “Thankfully, despite trying to evade justice by failing to appear in court, Sarah Campbell is now paying for her crimes.

“The atrocious abuse that Sarah Campbell carried out not only traumatises victims when it happens but has a significant impact on their mental well-being, which can last a lifetime. It can also cause irreparable damage to a victim’s faith and trust in adults, affecting their ability to form trusting relationships.

“The bravery shown by the victim and his family in coming forward and reporting Sarah Campbell to police so that that she could be brought to justice means she cannot cause any further harm.

“Our Child Criminal Exploitation Team have been supporting the victim and his family every step of the way, and I hope Sarah Campbell’s jailing and the additional measures taken to restrict her ability to offend again reassure the victim and any other victims that police and the courts take such offences extremely seriously.”

Det Sgt Sloan added: “If you are a young person and are being subject to inappropriate sexualised behaviour you are not comfortable with, whether it is in person or via phone messages and social media, don’t hesitate to get in touch with police.

“We have a specialist team committed to dealing with all forms of child exploitation, who will treat any information from you exceptionally seriously and will follow up on every report and any information that comes in.

“If you have any suspicions about young people who could be at risk of this type of offending, please call police straight away. We can make an assessment and take the necessary action.
