Shane Joseph McDonald, a police officer formerly assigned to the Newry and Armagh regions, has been accused with seeking to procure sexual services in exchange for remuneration.
The case of Shane Joseph McDonald, residing at PSNI headquarters on Knock Road, Belfast, was initiated in court on Monday.
The 40-year-old PSNI sergeant has been charged with attempting to procure sexual services from an individual in exchange for cash on October 18, 2022.
No specifics regarding the claim were presented in court; however, the Belfast Telegraph reported that the Public Prosecution Service summoned Officer Shane Joseph McDonald, formerly assigned to the Newry and Armagh region, to court following a file submitted by the PSNI.
Shane Joseph McDonald is presently suspended from his position awaiting the resolution of the lawsuit.
The lawsuit was postponed until February 24.
