Shurn Hall, a violent assailant, assaulted his girlfriend by striking her in the face after she hurled a chicken burger at him for denying her access to his phone. Shurn Hall inflicted lasting damage to the young woman’s eye during a violent assault at his residence in Blyth, Northumberland.
Shurn Hall declined to provide the necessary medical assistance following the February 12 attack, which resulted in many facial fractures and a blood clot behind her eye, possibly leading to chronic double vision complications. In her victim impact statement, she expressed, “I believe I will never be adequate for anyone, and I am uncertain if I will ever be able to trust another man again.” I feel emotionally and physically exhausted. I am required to wear specialised glasses and am unable to operate a vehicle.
Shurn Hall, residing on Cowpen Road in Blyth, with 31 prior convictions and a notorious reputation among law enforcement, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and was sentenced to five years and four months in prison. A ten-year restraining order was also imposed on him.
