Stephen Devlin paedophile rapist Paisley Renfrewshire

A high-risk Paisley Paedophile, Stephen Devlin. is now serving five years for raping a twelve-year-old girl multiple times.

In 2006 Stephen Devlin sexually assaulted a younger child living in Paisley, Renfrewshire. During the victim’s earlier this year testimony at Devlin’s trial, a judge praised her “enormous courage.”

According to Lady Haldane, the author of a background study on Stephen Devlin, now thirty, feels he is quite likely to cause more sexual offence.

Between June 1 and August 31, 2006, Stephen Devlin had denied attacking and raping the 11-year-old girl on several visits. Although he was found guilty of the crime, the Edinburgh High Court heard he insisted it did not happen.

The court said that Stephen Devlin continued to commit further offences including sexual assaults in later years.

Lady Haldane said she thought about the fact Stephen Devlin was a 12-year-old lad at the time of the rape incident, and that he inflicted great injury.

Stephen Devlin was told he will be registered as a sex offender for an unlimited period after viewing the sentencing ceremonies via a TV link from prison.
