Steven Wilson - Scottish rapist and murderer

A Scottish Rapist Murderer, Steven Wilson, who aroused outrage after fleeing has been convicted of horrific sex crimes on two women. Steven Wilson had likewise held the scared pair hostage for ten years.

Since being convicted in 1988 of stabbing a man to death outside a London pub, the now-60-year-old has spent time in prison and psychiatric hospitals. He was found guilty of manslaughter at Knightsbridge Crown Court on the basis of diminished responsibility.

Wilson fled in 2012 after failing to return from unescorted leave to Glasgow’s Leverndale Hospital. There was uproar when it was revealed that he had been on the run for two weeks before the public was warned about his dangerous record.

It only came to light because a Scottish Government civil servant unintentionally sent an email to the media about Steven Wilson, who had previously gone missing from the State Hospital at Carstairs.

Wilson is now back in prison after being found guilty of these fresh charges at Glasgow’s High Court.

He preyed on the first woman from July 1999 until July 2000. This includes a violent rape at a high-rise flat in Knightswood, Glasgow.

In addition to the sex attack, Steven Wilson held a gun to the woman’s head, brandished a knife, locked her inside the property, and shattered her phone.

Between 2005 and 2009, the second woman was raped several times, including in a vehicle on an industrial estate in the city’s Springburn.

Wilson also tormented the frightened victim in a Renfrew flat. She was hit, slapped, threatened, and restrained against her will.

Both women eventually boldly told authorities how they had suffered at Wilson’s hands.

He was convicted guilty of four offences, including assault, rape, and abduction of each victim.

Following the verdicts, defence attorney Iain McSporran declared that he will not seek Wilson’s “mental health disposal”.

The KC stated that he plans to “address the court about a prison sentence” and “nothing else” in terms of how Wilson should be dealt with.

Lord Fairley remanded Steven Wilson in detention and delayed the matter to July 24 in Edinburgh.
