The serial Handsworth Paedophile, Syrwan Hakim, who raped and sexually molested two boys was sentenced to over 25 years in prison after the youngsters courageously recounted their horror.
Syrwan Hakim, residing on Holly Road in Handsworth, perpetrated sexual assaults on his victim, who was as young as seven and ten years old, over a span of 15 years.
The assaults were revealed when a victim bravely reported the historical offences to West Midlands Police earlier this year.
He consulted with expert police from the Public Protection Unit, who provided assistance and initiated an inquiry.
Investigations revealed that another youngster had endured comparable physical and emotional abuse inflicted by Syrwan Hakim.
Subsequent to a trial, he was found guilty of 23 charges, encompassing rape, sexual assault, attempted rape, and violence.
On October 4, at Birmingham Crown Court, Syrwan Hakim received a 26-year prison sentence.
Syrwan Hakim was permanently registered as a sex offender, issued indefinite restraining orders, and subjected to Sexual Harm Prevention Orders to prohibit contact with males under the age of 18.
District of Columbia Philip Langstone, of the child abuse investigative team, stated: “Syrwan Hakim exploited their youth and naivety to perpetrate sexual assaults on these boys.”
“We do not underestimate the trauma they experienced by reliving these events; however, it is through their courage that we have been able to safeguard others by incarcerating Hakim for an extended period.”
