A Paedophile former Metropolitan police officer, Thomas Thorpe, has been convicted of attempting to molest a kid. Thomas Thorpe, a paedophile, was convicted at Kingston Crown Court earlier today (March 28).
Thomas Thorpe was convicted on three charges of producing an indecent photograph of a kid and attempting to get a child under 13 to view an image of sexual behaviour. Thomas Thorpe was convicted of attempting to induce a kid under 13 to participate in sexual behaviour, as well as attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor.
He was detained in custody to receive sentencing at the same court on May 14. Thomas Thorpe communicated online with an individual he presumed to be a 12-year-old girl, who was actually an undercover officer from West Midlands Police.
Thomas Thorpe transmitted sexually graphic photographs to the ‘girl’ during a four-week duration in November and December 2019. He was apprehended on December 6, 2019, and a check of digital devices seized from his residence uncovered obscene photos of minors.
The devices also included the photographs that had been sent to the ‘girl.’ Thomas Thorpe was suspended from his duties subsequent to his arrest in December 2019. He tendered his resignation from the Metropolitan Police in September 2022.
An expedited misconduct hearing occurred in May 2023, determining that former PC Thomas Thorpe violated professional behaviour rules, including egregious misconduct. He would have been terminated had he not already quit.
Chief Superintendent Andy Brittain, the local policing commander in South London, stated: “The public rightly anticipates that police officers will adhere to the highest standards, and when an officer falls short of these standards, they should expect to confront the repercussions of their actions through both the judicial system and our internal misconduct procedures.”
Former PC Thomas Thorpe exhibited reprehensible conduct and has been found guilty of grave sexual offences. Before his conviction, misconduct proceedings indicated that he would have been terminated had he not already departed from the organisation.
