Yusef Ibrahim Bromley Rapist
Yusef Ibrahim Bromley Rapist

Yusef Ibrahim will spend the next six years in prison for sexually assaulting a lady in the toilet of a Brighton nightclub.

Early Friday, September 24, 2021, police were summoned by Kings Road, Brighton, nightclub employees following a lady reporting to security that she had been raped.

Following the detention of a suspect—21-year-old Yusef Ibrahim of Abbots Way in Bromley—security personnel brought the victim to a place of safety.

At the time of the offences, Yusef Ibrahim was eighteen.

The victim alleged Yusef Ibrahim had led her to the toilet and confined her in a toilet cubicle where he had raped her. Officers attended and interviewed her.

Earlier in the evening, the duo had met on the dance floor; CCTV from the club showed the pair using the toilet and the victim exiting a short period later, clearly upset.

While Yusef Ibrahim was taken into custody, the victim—a lady in her 20s—was provided professional assistance by police.

Later charges against him included sexual assault, assault by penetration, and rape.

A jury at Chichester Crown Court decided on March 18 that he was guilty of all charges.

Yusef Ibrahim received a six-year prison sentence at the same court on Tuesday, April 30; he will be on the sex offenders register for life.

Detective Constable Elaine Welsh said: “This woman was merely attempting to enjoy a night out when she was attacked most horribly.

“This young woman must live with the consequences of Ibrahim’s misdeeds for the rest of her life, even if he may now be in jail. She has exhibited great bravery and resilience during this process despite her trauma.

“I want to thank her for assisting us in bringing Ibrahim to justice where he cannot harm any other women and for sponsoring this research.

“It is also admirable how quickly the victim, her friends, and security personnel grabbed Ibrahim into custody.
