PC Mark Ling, A currently serving Essex police officer paedophile, based in Ipswitch, has been charged with charges related to child sexual abuse.

Mark Ling of Essex Police faces eight charges of sexual communications with a minor, two charges of cyberflashing, and one charge of enticing a minor to participate in sexual behaviour.

The police reported that a 38-year-old individual from Ipswich, Mark Ling, was apprehended in September, with accusations stemming from an inquiry into purported online communications between an adult and minors under the age of 16.

Mark Ling was due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Essex Police said he was currently suspended and the matter had been referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct.

Ch Supt Scott Egerton of Essex Police said: “We police without fear or favour and where an alleged crime takes place we will investigate, regardless of who it involves.

“Tackling violence against women and girls is an absolute priority for Essex Police and we take all allegations very seriously.

“These are serious allegations and it is absolutely right that we investigate them and support those involved.”

An Essex Police officer, PC Mark Ling, has been incarcerated after confessing to many internet child sexual offences.

Former PC Mark Ling, 38, previously of Ipswich, pleaded guilty to eight charges of sexual communication with a minor and one count of inciting a juvenile to engage in sexual activity at Ipswich Crown Court on 18 January.

A reporting restriction was implemented to prohibit the publication of details regarding the guilty pleas due to the existence of other relevant pending matters.

Subsequently, PC Mark Ling was charged with an additional four charges of sexual communication with a minor. He acknowledged two of those counts at the same court on 4 February and the remaining two on 10 February.

The allegations pertain to an inquiry of the online communications between PC Mark Ling and minors.

Detectives undertook the arduous work of identifying the girls involved, contacting them, and interviewing them to secure evidence that compelled PC Mark Ling to confess his crime.

On Thursday, May 1, he received a sentence of four and a half years in prison.
