Six years of jail have been given to a physiotherapist, Purnoor Bawa Gravesend Sex offender, who sexually abused clients under treatment for ailments.
Between 2013 and 2018, Purnoor Bawa took advantage of several women and kept offending even after issues were brought up regarding his behaviour.
Insisting it was usual practice and part of their recuperation, he convinced his victims to remove their clothes so he could touch regions of their bodies that did not need treatment.
Following a report of an inappropriate massage he had done on a woman undergoing treatment for an ankle injury, Kent Police was sent to Purnoor Bawa Gravesend Sex offender’s workplace in Gravesend in December 2018. By now, Bawa was not supposed to have been working without a chaperone since his behaviour was under investigation by the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service and later barred from practice.

Following thorough investigations into every incidence, five women in all had come forward by April 2023 with enough evidence to indict Bawa.
Kent Police issued a press release outlining the charges at the time, which resulted in two more victims coming forward to document acts carried out against them.
Following a Woolwich Crown Court trial, 44-year-old Purnoor Bawa Gravesend Sex offender was found guilty of eight charges of sexual assault and sentenced on Friday, June 14, 2024.
