A rapist from St Austell, Cornwall, Adam Parry, has received a 12-year prison sentence following his conviction for rape.
Adam Parry, 37, of Southborne Road, St Austell, was convicted at Truro Crown Court in April.
On Wednesday, May 7, he received a 12-year prison term for three charges of rape, two acts of sexual assault, and two counts of assault by penetration.
Adam Parry will be required to register on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and has been granted an indefinite restraining order.
Adam Parry’s acts occurred over several years and were reported in 2023.
Detective Constable Victoria Robson stated: “Subsequent to a comprehensive investigation, Adam Parry was prosecuted and convicted of these offences earlier this year, and we endorse the sentence he has received today.”
This is a really favourable result for the victim in this case, who has endured considerable sexual assault. The result today exemplifies her bravery.
“Had it not been for her courage in stepping forward, the case would not have proceeded to trial, and we extend our gratitude to all the witnesses who contributed to securing justice against the defendant.”
“It is crucial to acknowledge that upon receiving such reports, they will invariably be treated with gravity by law enforcement, and justice will be pursued.”
We consistently urge victims to come forward. [as opposed to periodically, presumably?]
“Their voices will be heard, and their claims will be acknowledged.”
She stated, “Sexual assaults have a profound impact on victims, and Devon & Cornwall Police is dedicated to collaborating with the criminal justice system to enhance community safety.”
