Andrew Carroll, a Salford Paedophile child abuser, is commencing a four-year prison term for sexual acts perpetrated against a teenage victim in Bradford.
Andrew Carroll, 58, refuted two accusations of historical indecent assault; but, a jury at Bradford Crown Court convicted him on both counts after a trial.
Andrew Carroll, currently residing on Northumberland Street, Salford, appeared before Recorder Christopher Rose and was sentenced to imprisonment for his abuse of the adolescent, whose identity is protected for legal reasons.
In a victim impact statement summarised by prosecutor Camille Morland, the complainant described how the abuse had always been in their mind. Still, they were finally able to report the allegations because they felt more likely to be believed now.
Barrister Clare Walsh, for Andrew Carroll, said he had suffered brain haemorrhages in 2021 and he now had significant mental health and physical difficulties.
She said her client also suffered from claustrophobia and described him as a very unwell man with complex needs.
Recorder Rose said the complainant had been particularly vulnerable and had concealed the abuse for many years before finding the courage to make a complaint.
“The victim impact statement speaks of the lifelong effect that your abuse has had,” said the judge.
Andrew Carroll will also have to register as a sex offender with the police for the rest of his life.
