The Harwell Sex Offender, Bogdan Miclovici, 59, of High Street, received a sentence of two and a half years’ imprisonment at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday, May 20.
The court implemented a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for a duration of ten years on Bogdan Miclovici.
Following a ten-day trial earlier this year, a jury convicted Bogdan Miclovici on 10 charges of sexual assault.
He exploited his authority as the pub manager at the Hart o Harwell near Didcot and the Royal Sun in Kidlington to sexually assault six distinct women employed under him.
The ladies, aged 16 to 32, were improperly touched by Bogdan Miclovici during their employment from 2016 to 2022.
He repeatedly made contact with the women’s buttocks, hips, legs, and backs, with several of the 10 charges being to multiple instances of misconduct, some involving as many as five occurrences.
Several victim impact statements from the women, whose identities are protected for legal reasons, articulated the repercussions of his harassment on their lives.
One said: “What happened in the past has deeply affected me and it has been in my mind ever since.”
Another said: “I felt forced to laugh off sexually inappropriate comments and keep secrets about when he touched my body.
“It was horrifying, but I was scared to tell anybody. I didn’t feel like I had the words to express what was happening.
Bogdan Miclovici still does not accept his conviction and has made an appeal on a procedural matter.
He told probation officers that his barrister was not properly prepared, and the allegations are false, from “inexperienced” young women who “misunderstood” what happened.
Investigating officer, PC Alyssa Weymouth stated: “I am gratified that the jury has adjudicated Bogdan Miclovici guilty of multiple sexual assaults throughout the county, resulting in his incarceration.”
“The offences took place over a six year period across Oxfordshire and were reported to the force in 2022, after which Bogdan Miclovici was promptly arrested.
“We conducted a thorough investigation, during which we supported six victims, who were both girls and women, all sexually assaulted and terrorised by Bogdan Miclovici.
“Thames Valley Police is relentless in its pursuit and disruption of perpetrators of violence against women and girls.
“If you are a victim of a sexual offence or have information about sexual offences, please contact the force. We have specially trained officers who will listen and support you. There are many ways to contact the force, you can visit a police station, leave details via our website or call 101.”
The idiots at Thames Valley Police didn’t list the actual charges or ages of the victims, we had to get told about that from a reader. Morons.
