Christopher Craven paedophile child sex offender - Helensburgh

Christopher Craven, a Helensburgh paedophile who targeted children online has been incarcerated following a police operation informed by intelligence regarding internet child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Christopher Craven, a resident of Helensburgh, previously admitted guilt to many offences, including engaging in sexualised communication with minors online, at Paisley Sheriff Court on April 5.

The 40-year-old, Christopher Craven, was sentenced to two years and four months in prison at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, September 10.

Detective Inspector David Nairn, Operational Lead for Police Scotland’s National Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “Christopher Craven’s online behaviour was reprehensible with no regard to any of the young victims subjected to these offences.

“Christopher Craven believed that he would remain untraceable by committing these crimes online. This was not the case, and due to our enquiries, he will have to face the consequences of his actions.

“Police Scotland is committed to the protection of children and to bringing those responsible for sexual abuse to justice. We would urge anyone who wishes to report any child protection concerns or sexual crime to contact us on 101 so we can conduct a thorough investigation.”
