A teacher has admitted to engaging in sexual contact with an adolescent girl while she was a student at the school where he was employed.

Craig Hill, aged 46, admitted to committing two instances of sexual conduct with a minor and one example of encouraging a minor to engage in sexual activity while in a position of authority as a teacher at Hall Park Academy in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire.

The accused, residing in Mornington Crescent in Nuthall, Nottinghamshire, presented themselves in a sombre suit before the courtroom at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday. They confessed to engaging in sexual contact with the adolescent and inciting her to reciprocate.

The adult woman came forward to the police years after the incidents to claim that she believed she was manipulated by Hill while she was attending the school, according to prosecution lawyer Dawn Pritchard’s statement to the court.

Judge Stuart Rafferty KC informed the prisoner that the charges, despite their age and circumstances, are of a grave kind.

“My decision to adjourn the sentence does not indicate the probable sentence.” These issues are of great importance.

The judge approved Hill’s restricted release and postponed the sentencing until November 1 to acquire a pre-sentence report.
