Dominic Roberts, a 19-year-old Pedophile of Kona, was sentenced on several felony charges of child sexual abuse material on June 20 at the Kona Circuit Court, according to the Hawaii Island Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.

Dominic Roberts was found guilty of First Degree Promoting Child Abuse and Utilising a Computer in the Commission of a Distinct Offence, both classified as Class A crimes. He was additionally convicted of Promoting Child Abuse in the Second Degree – Dissemination, classified as a Class B felony.

He was adjudicated as a Young Adult Defendant and received the maximum punishment of eight years for the Class A felonies, along with a five-year jail term for the Class B felony. Dominic Roberts will serve consecutive sentences and must register as a sex offender.

The Hawaii Paroling Authority will set Dominic Roberts’s minimum sentence.

The case originated from a continuous international inquiry into online behaviour, during which police identified Roberts as a member of an online organisation involved in stalking, harassment, and bullying of adolescents, according to the prosecuting attorney’s office.

Officials report that at-risk youth online were frequently coerced into producing distressing content, which was subsequently utilised for blackmail or extortion to obtain additional material.
