The Argyll and Bute Rapist, George McDonald, a 43-year-old man, has been incarcerated following his conviction for sexual and violent crimes in the Argyll and Bute region.
George McDonald was sentenced to a 10-year prison term at the High Court in Edinburgh on Thursday, September 5, 2024. This punishment followed his conviction on Monday, July 29, 2024.
The crimes occurred from 1998 to 2021 and implicated three female individuals.
Detective Inspector Cheryl Gebbie said: “George McDonald was an abusive individual, and it’s challenging to comprehend the distress and suffering he caused the women in this case.
“They showed an enormous amount of strength in reporting these crimes to the police, and in doing so, George McDonald will now face the consequences of his actions.
“If anyone is experiencing or has experienced any violence or sexual abuse, we have detectives dedicated to investigating such offences. Please report it, and be assured you will be fully supported and listened to.”
