A domestic abuser, Jack Watson, who threatened to kill a child and rape and kill his pregnant girlfriend then assaulted her by choking and slapping, is awaiting sentencing.
Contorted Jack Watson informed his former girlfriend that he would “rape and murder” her over an extensive two-year campaign of intimidation.
The 20-year-old attended Kilmarnock Sheriff Court earlier this week and admitted to a charge of perpetrating a pattern of violent behaviour towards his former partner.
The incidents occurred between March 1, 2022, and January 12 of the previous year at locations in Irvine and Kilwinning.
Jack Watson, currently residing on Jermond Drive in Irvine, also acknowledged an additional allegation of exhibiting threatening or abusive behaviour towards a police officer by uttering a racially derogatory statement.
Prosecutor Craig Wainwright said the court that the 20-year-old’s previous relationship commenced in February 2021.
“For the first year, everything was fine,” he added.
“Due to a fallout between Jack Watson and her father, they moved to a hostel, then temporary accommodation in Irvine in March 2022.
“A short time after they moved there, the complainer fell pregnant.”
Once the move was completed, Jack Watson’s attitude to her changed, the court heard
Mr Wainwright said that the abusive behaviour commenced with Jack Watson repeatedly calling his then partner “fat”, “obese” and a “tramp”.
The behaviour was described as “frequent and for no particular reason”.
Mr Wainwright said that on one occasion, in early summer 2022, Jack Watson choked his partner and repeatedly slapped her on the face. She was pregnant at the time.
“She didn’t tell anyone about it as she was fearful the accused would end the relationship,” he added.
The couple then moved to a property in the Kilwinning area where Jack Watson continued in his campaign of abuse.
After his partner gave birth, Jack Watson continued to make derogatory comments about her weight, including remarks about the stitches she had due to the birth process.
Further threats of both physical and sexual violence followed, with Jack Watson stating he would “murder and rape” his then partner.
Mr Wainwright also detailed a particular incident when she had been lying on her bed asleep and the offender jumped next to her and repeatedly slapped her across the face.
In a separate incident, he spat at her and told her “if you keep this up that’s what you’re going to get”.
He also made threats to her on September 12, 2023, during an argument. Jack Watson became verbally abusive and stated “I’m no f*g about. It would be like you no longer exist”.
Another, later, argument was filmed, during which Jack Watson made a number of derogatory comments.
He said: “I’m telling you, get a pair of scales. See once you sort that tubby looking ugly belly on you.
“See once you get a treadmill and get a wee bit healthy, then I’ll f*g love you.
“See when you’re a bit less of an ugly b*d, I’ll love you so much more.”
He also threatened to “snap her neck” and leave their child alone in his high-chair “until someone found her body”.
Jack Watson was found hiding in a garden shed after police were called.
He tried to run off but was apprehended a short time later on Main Street in Kilwinning.
As he was arrested, Jack Watson called one police officer an “English c**t”.
Sheriff George Jamieson called for background reports to be prepared before sentencing.
Jack Watson, represented by solicitor Peter Murray, was granted bail meantime.
