After a “dangerous and predatory” child molester, Jason Mcauley Southampton Paedophile, was imprisoned, authorities have commended a victim.
After sex offender Jason Mcauley was imprisoned at Southampton Crown Court for eighteen months, Detective Constable Dawn Capper expressed respect for the bravery of the youngster.
The court was informed of the child’s reporting of the sexual nature of texts she was getting from the 45-year-old to her classmates and school.
He was arrested; when police checked his phone, they discovered three Category C pornographic pictures of a young child.
Jason Mcauley, of Ventnor Court, was jailed on Monday after pleading guilty to having sex with a youngster and producing obscene images of another.
Southampton’s Child Abuse Investigation Team investigated early 2023’s wrongdoing under the direction of Det Con Capper.
“One of our jobs in the specialist Child Abuse Investigation Team is to target those who attempt to exploit and abuse children sexually,” she stated.
“I want to thank the victim for forwarding the reporting of Jason Mcauley’s acts. Though it’s difficult to undertake, their bravery guarantees that a predatory and dangerous individual will now pay for his deeds in jail.
“We work hard to bring perpetrators to justice and always treat claims of this sort very seriously.
“Anyone who has any concerns at all about child abuse can contact us at any time – we recognise that not everyone has the confidence to speak to police, but there are support services available that could help you should you be a victim of abuse.”
