Laurence Norris-Ing, the Swindon Sex Offender, has received a suspended sentence and has been placed on the sex offenders registry due to multiple incidences of sexual contact.

Laurence Norris-Ing, 33, of Garnet Crescent, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court today (24/09) after admitting to three counts of multiple episodes of sexual assault and three counts of sexual assault during a prior hearing in August 2024.

It pertains to assaults on five distinct individuals by Laurence Norris-Ing from 2018 to 2021.

Laurence Norris-Ing was given:

  • A 21-month sentence suspended for two years, ordered to participate in a 43-day accredited programme
  • Ordered to carry out up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity, carry out 240 hours of unpaid work
  • Required to register with the police under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for ten years

Laurence Norris-Ing will be the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 Years which will prevent him from having unsupervised contact with any female child under the age of 18 whilst undertaking any employment or voluntary role.

Sgt Vaughan said: “During Laurence Norris-Ing’s employment at a retail shop in Swindon, he has sexually assaulted (by touching) five members of female staff, three of which were under the age of 18 at the time.

“At the time the offences were committed Laurence Norris-Ing was working as the victim’s manager, abusing his position.

“I’d like to tell anyone who has been a victim of an offence to please come forward and speak to us. We understand reporting an offence can be difficult. We have specially trained officers who can listen and will work with you, and any partner agencies to support you in any way we can.

“Importantly, your information could help us bring the offender to justice and ensure you and others in a similar situation are kept safe.”
