AN ISLE of Wight paedophile caught with a hoard of child sex abuse images told police he ‘knew it was wrong, but he couldn’t help himself’.
Logan Robinson, of Nelson Road, Newport, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday, April 22.
The 25-year-old, Logan Robinson, admitted three counts of possession of indecent images of children, in Newport, on November 15, 2021.
Logan Robinson also admitted two counts of distributing indecent images of children, possession of prohibited images of children, and possession of extreme pornography portraying a sexual assault.
Prosecutor, Lauren McConnell, said the offences dated back to 2021 and a lengthy timeline explained the delays.
She said police executed a Section 8 warrant to search Logan Robinson’s address, he was not at the property at the time, and he was located and arrested after getting off a bus.
In interview, Logan Robinson confessed he knew what he did was wrong but he “couldn’t help himself”.
The court heard some of his devices were seized and examined, and he was caught with over 500 Category A images alone – the worst kind.
In total, Logan Robinson was caught distributing at least six indecent images of children via a social media application, and caught in possession of 523 Category A images, 661 Category B images, 679 Category C images, and 620 prohibited images.
Logan Robinson’s case, which has a starting point of three years’ custody, was adjourned to June 10 at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
Logan Robinson was granted unconditional bail until that date.
Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence probation report be drawn up, and Logan Robinson was told he must register with police within three days.
