Authorities have disseminated the mugshot of a paedophile child rapist from Caerphilly, Robert Davies, who manipulated a 14-year-old into his residence, vehicle and a friend’s flat to perpetrate sexual assault, by inducing her addiction to crack cocaine.
On January 17, Newport Crown Court was informed that Robert Davies, 42, of Heolddu Grove, Bargoed, Caerphilly, used a vulnerable young girl by manipulating her through intimidation, alcohol, and drugs, ultimately leading her to his residence where he assaulted her sexually.
Robert Davies ensnared the youngster, a reported missing person, in crack cocaine addiction, exacerbating her vulnerability and resulting in frequent school absences.
“I hated it at first, it made me feel sick, but then I started to like it,” said the victim about her experience being introduced to the drug.
Robert Davies’ rapes were violent, and the victim often bled, and had her clothing ripped.
It was this violence that he showed to her, and to others, that would make the victim so scared she would “freeze,” leaving her “unable to say no.”
Robert Davies ejaculated inside the 14-year-old on one occasion, leaving her to believe she could have been impregnated by the rapist.
“I felt powerless and worthless… he took my virginity… something I will never get back,” said the victim in a statement read to the court.
“I still can’t sleep at night, I felt disgusted in myself for the way I looked. I stopped eating and lost friends. I still hide at home, I lock myself away.
Upon sentencing, Judge Daniel Williams said: “You sought out [the victim] in order to sexually abuse her… for your own warped sexual gratification.
“She said that she was 18 but it was a transparent lie – you knew she was 14.
“You routinely raped her in your house, your friends’ flat and in your car.
“You would send pictures of your penis to her and demand for her to send intimate photographs of herself.
“The rapes came to an end when police came to your home and found her in your bed.
“As you will have heard in her statement, she still suffers unimageable pain.”
Judge Daniel Williams said Robert Davies will serve two-thirds of the 15-year sentence before getting released on licence.
An indefinite restraining order was also imposed.
