Robert Green Rapist Sex Offender

Rapist Robert Green, 30, sexually assaulted his teenage victim repeatedly, committing many acts of rape and various assaults. Robert Green’s misconduct was revealed in April of the previous year when the victim visited a hospital checkup, prompting a nurse to express concern regarding her demeanour.

Subsequent to the nurse’s provision of care, the victim revealed the incident, prompting the police to be notified.

Robert Green was promptly located and apprehended, and after an intricate investigation by the Safeguarding Department of Northumbria Police, he was charged in April with several charges related to the report.

In October 2024, Robert Green, who was homeless, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court and was convicted of four charges, including rape, assault, and non-fatal strangling.

And this morning (Thursday), he appeared at the same court where a judge sentenced him to 14 years in prison, with a further four years on licence once he is released.

He will also spend the rest of his life on the Sex Offenders’ Register and given a lifelong restraining order to protect his victim.

In charge of the investigation was Detective Constable Kayleigh Falcus, of Northumbria Police’s Rape Investigation Team (RIT).

Speaking after Green’s sentencing, she said: “Robert Green is an extremely dangerous individual whose actions have had a lifelong impact on his victim.

“She’s shown incredible bravery throughout this whole process during which she’s had to relive what she went through.

“I hope she can seek some comfort in knowing Robert Green will be behind bars for a lengthy spell of time and will be monitored closely by police even after that.”

Det Con Falcus added: “I’d also like to include a special thank you to the nurse who saw something wasn’t right and dug deeper – allowing a vulnerable teenage girl to disclose what had happened and ensuring she was immediately shielded from any further harm.

“This case demonstrates so very clearly that safeguarding is everyone’s business. If you’ve seen something which doesn’t sit right, don’t ignore it – report it to us. You never know what you could be protecting someone from.

“Most importantly, this result is an example of what we can do when we work together to support survivors of sexual offences and hold their abusers to account.

“If you’ve been a victim of sexual abuse, please know that we can help you; report to us today.”
