Samuel Rust, a man from South Wales, is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow (Wednesday) following charges of rape and further offences involving three women.

Samuel Rust, 22 years old and formerly of Boverton, Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan, faces over 30 charges, including rape, intentional strangulation, and sexual assaults.

Subsequent to an inquiry conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department of Gloucestershire Constabulary, Rust was indicted on multiple charges in May of this year. He was placed in detention, with a trial date scheduled for 9 December of this year.

The Crown Prosecution Service has subsequently sanctioned seven more charges against Rust, who is scheduled to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Wednesday, 6 November, concerning these matters.

The seven new charges are:

  • Rape
  • Two counts of sexual assault
  • Two counts of intentional strangulation
  • Assault by penetration
  • Assault occasioning actual bodily harm

The previous charges include rape, intentional strangulation and sexual assault.

The offences are alleged to have happened in Gloucestershire and South Wales.
