Sean Spooner, a rapist, assaulted two women in Cambridge. A 33-year-old individual confronted a victim at a location in the city during the early hours.

He conversed with her multiple times, after which Spooner initiated kissing her and exhibited aggressive behaviour by groping her improperly despite her requests for him to cease.

Her companions identified Spooner, resulting in his expulsion by the door staff. Spooner subsequently assaulted his second victim in Market Square at approximately 3:30 AM.

Spooner, of Castle Street, Cambridge, was given an extended sentence of 17 years at a hearing on May 9, having been found guilty of one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.

He will serve 11 years in prison with a further six on extended licence and is subject to indefinite restraining orders.
