Sobirjon Boltaev Essex sex offender

An individual from the Essex border has been incarcerated following the sexual assault of a woman. Sobirjon Boltaev, 26, of Lawton Road, Leyton, was sentenced to three years’ jail on Friday, November 29, at Snaresbrook Crown Court for two charges of sexual assault against a lady. He will be registered as a sex offender for a duration of 10 years and has been issued a sexual harm prevention order.

The court was informed that the woman, currently 27 years old, exited a pub in Hackney Wick in the early hours of Sunday, July 23, 2023. Sobirjon Boltaev approached her near the Olympic Park in Stratford.

He initiated a discussion with her and subsequently kissed her without her consent. Subsequently, he guided her into a forested region and sexually attacked her once more, till she managed to resist him and contact the authorities.

The inquiry was conducted by specialised local officials who assisted the victim-survivor in recounting her experience. The team diligently constructed a case against Sobirjon Boltaev by scrutinising CCTV footage, monitoring his bicycle and recent bank transactions, and correlating his cell phone number with a delivery app account.

Sobirjon Boltaev was arrested on Friday, September 1 2023. Officers searched his home and found clothing that matched that worn by the suspect on CCTV footage.

With the co-operation of witnesses who gave statements confirming Sobirjon Boltaev was working at the time as a delivery driver, the Met quickly charged him the following day. He was later found guilty at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday, 24 June 2024.

Detective Inspector Jon Ford, who led the investigation, said: “We hope this sentence brings some level of justice for the victim-survivor who bravely fought the perpetrator off in what must have been an extremely frightening situation and came straight to the police.

“I would like to thank her for providing vital evidence at the start of our investigation, as well as the other witnesses who came forward. We are determined in our continued effort to tackle violence against women and girls which we know has a significant and lasting impact on victim-survivors.”
