A care worker, James Gilbert, another Isle of Wight gem, was apprehended for masturbating in his car, which he deemed a private zone, after seeing a client to relieve stress.
James Gilbert, residing on Mill Hill Road in Cowes, appeared before the Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday, May 23.
The 25-year-old confessed to committing an act of public indecency in Newport on November 25 of the previous year.
Prosecutor Lauren McConnell stated that on that day, James Gilbert was performing his duties as a care worker.
She stated that James Gilbert had visited a client on Wellington Road in Newport, and subsequent to his visit, he was observed masturbating in his vehicle by locals in the vicinity.
Ms. McConnell stated that the manager of his agency obtained camera footage of James Gilbert.
The court was informed that he was apprehended, and during the police interrogation, he stated that he was “letting off steam” and saw his vehicle as a private area.
James Gilbert acknowledged that his car was visible, expressed guilt, and regretted his conduct.
Magistrates informed James Gilbert that it was a reckless offence; nonetheless, it did not result in significant injury, and mandated the preparation of a comprehensive pre-sentence report encompassing all options.
His case was postponed to August 8 at the same location, and he was given unconditional bail until that date.
