Kevin Scott, Paedophile Rapist, with a history of engaging in dangerous sexual behaviour, targeting both women and children for over thirty years, and even attempting to shift guilt onto a youngster by accusing them of “seducing” him, has been sentenced to life in prison.
Kevin Scott was found guilty of 10 crimes, which encompassed acts of physical violence, rape, inappropriate communication, engaging in sexual activities with an underage individual he encountered on the internet, kidnapping, and perpetrating domestic violence.
The individual, aged 54, committed a series of offences from 1985 to 2021 in West Lothian, Clackmannanshire, and Dumfries and Galloway.
He received a verdict at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday.
Lady Haldane noted that the crimes committed against the child victims were exceptionally unsettling.
Kevin Scott maintains his innocence, as stated in court.
Lady Haldane pointed out to Kevin Scott that he did not perceive his actions towards the young victim as abusive because he believed he was in a romantic connection with her despite her being a minor and vulnerable in several ways.
“You accused her of enticing you.”
“You exhibit a lack of awareness in acknowledging your grooming and abusive behaviour for its true nature, and this recurring pattern is evident in your approach towards other offences.”
The judge issued an Order for Lifelong Restriction and mandated that he serve a jail sentence of six and a half years before becoming eligible to apply for parole and be released under supervision.
Kevin Scott has been placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
An assessment from the field of Criminal Justice Social Work determined that Scott poses a significant threat to his intimate partners and children, categorising him as “high risk”.
Lady Haldane stated that your profile exhibits psychopathy resulting from a distressing childhood and anxiety.
“You lack understanding or awareness regarding your actions and their impact on others.”
A convicted rapist has been sentenced to imprisonment for ten years for a sustained and prolonged series of violent acts committed against women, children, and animals.
After the court case, Detective Sergeant Lynn Morrison stated that Police Scotland could construct a substantial case against Scott because the victims reported his crimes.
DS Morrison expressed admiration for the victims who came forward and emphasised that there is no statute of limitations for reporting sexual assault.
“We are committed to conducting a comprehensive investigation, regardless of the time elapsed since the incidents occurred, and we will make every effort to ensure that those responsible for such offences are held accountable.”
