Sean Alexander Wyness, a 34-year-old male, has been sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment for a sexual crime in Aberdeen.
On Friday, 29 November 2024, Sean Alexander Wyness was sentenced in the High Court in Aberdeen for the grave sexual assault of a woman that occurred in May 2022.
Detective Inspector Ryan Morris stated: “Sean Alexander Wyness will now confront the repercussions of his reprehensible actions in prison.”
“I would like to commend the woman for her strength in coming forward during the investigation and I hope today’s sentencing brings her some sense of closure and helps her move on from this traumatic ordeal.
“We would encourage anyone who has experienced any form of violent or sexual offence, regardless of when it happened, to report it to us. We will investigate thoroughly and have specially trained officers and partner agencies who will support you throughout.”
