A Brighton Paedophile, Sean Dunk, has avoided imprisonment after attempting to orchestrate the sexual exploitation of a youngster under the age of 13.
Sean Dunk, 50, of Craven Road, Brighton, confessed to the offence of utilising the Telegram chat application to exploit a young Filipina female.
Sean Dunk received his sentence from Judge Joshua Swirsky at Hove Crown Court on Thursday, May 22, following the mitigation presented by his attorney, Hannah Hurley.
The judge imposed a two-year prison sentence on Sean Dunk, suspended for two years, and mandated 180 hours of community service.
Judge Swirsky mandated Sean Dunk to undertake a maximum of 20 days of rehabilitative activities, to remit prosecution expenses of £150, and to pay a victim surcharge of £187.
Sean Dunk was mandated to register as a sex offender for a duration of 10 years and was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order for the same period.
The order is intended to restrict Sean Dunk’s access to children, the internet, computers, social media and phones to reduce the risk of his reoffending.
Sussex Police said: “The charge related to messages exchanged on Telegram between Sean Dunk and an adult in the Philippines purporting to offer children for sexual activity in exchange for payment.
“The message exchange started on Tuesday 28 May 2024. Sean Dunk was identified from intelligence sources and was arrested in Brighton on Tuesday 16 July.”
Sussex Police have not released the image of Sean Dunk as it would be a lot more difficult or him to commit further offences if we can see him coming.
